As countries move towards achieving the Aichi target of 10% coverage of MPAs of their national ocean areas under the Convention on Biological Diversity, there is a growing focus on achieving other elements of the Aichi target. To help address these challenges, UN Environment has launched evidence-based guidance on combining governance approaches to enable effective and equitable marine protected areas.
