‘I listened to an IEMA webinar giving an update of UK and EU legal and policy changes relating to Brexit. One thing that was mentioned was the EA Enforcement and Sanctions Guidance that is currently being consulted on (closes 29^th January). Apparently this proposes the use of a natural capital calculator for harm to the water environment.  The lawyer giving the presentation was a bit concerned that this was slipping under the radar a little.  Apologies if you are already aware of it. Looks like good news to me – could support sanctions and fines being linked to actual damage, rather than just clean-up costs?’ Click here to see the details
