Come on down to the beach for a clean-up!

This summer, we’re taking part in a project to get more over 50s onto the beach to help clean up our coastline. With beach litter increasing and impacting our wildlife, we really need your help. Litter blows onto our beaches from inland, arrives via rivers and washes in with the tide from all around the world.

Will you spare a few hours to join us on the beach for a clean-up and litter survey?

It’s a great excuse to get down to the beach, get some fresh air and meet like-minded people. Better still, the information you collect will really help make a difference to our wildlife, your community and the wider world.

Our recent volunteer litter surveys supported our campaign for the carrier bag charge which resulted in huge decreases in plastic bag litter, and thanks to these surveys we’re beating the microbeads issue, and we’re making great progress tackling wet wipes and drinks containers on our beaches.

But we can only continue to lead such campaigns with the support of people like you getting down to the beach and recording the litter you find.

Come on down to any of the following beach cleans – if you can – we need your help!
